Civilitas Visits Southern Armenia: Bardzravan Village
| Videos |
The Civilitas Foundation's Economic Facilitation Program traveled through Southern Armenia, during the early days of November 2009, on a trip destined for the Armenian-Iranian border communities of Alvank and Shvanidzor.
The Facilitation Team visited various village communities along the way, overlooking current and past projects of the program, as well as introducing new agricultural and dairy production projects to Armenia's rural regions, such as refrigeration units and milking machines for collective dairy production in Armenia's lesser developed village communities. The team made a stop by the surrounding region of the 4th-century Tatev Monastery, in Bardzravan Village, where our Facilitation Team spoke with an elderly villager regarding the village community, what the population demographics are like, what changes the new tram line project to Tatev Monastery may bring to the village, the village families' means of living, issues they have, and what our program can do to help the village move forward in its development.
Our last question was, "Which spheres require urgent reforms?" We suggested a few spheres to focus on: the political system, the economic system, the judicial system, education and mass media. Typically, we receive a similar distribution of answers on both the Armenian and English Civilitas sites.
